Guy and the Body Bag: Part 2

The continuation of Guy and his anniversary plans.

The commotion in the foyer had everybody in Guy's office peeping around doorways and ducking for cover with each crash. "Honey, would you stop for one minute?" Guy cried and dogged a stapler. "Hey! At least I didn't kill anyone today." "You say that like it was a difficult task!" Wife screeched and lobbed another missile. "No!" Guy flinched. The conversation was not going as planned. Co-worker was hiding behind the large array of silk plants in the corner. Guy glared at him. "This is YOUR fault!" "It is NOT! You started this mess with your dumb body bag!" Wife moved to DEFCON 3 at the mention of the body bag. "You blaggard! Who were you going to put in that thing? Tell me! Or I swear I'll call the police!" She pulled out her phone for emphasis. Best to make a clean breast of it. Guy put his hands out pleadingly. "I was going to surprise you," he started. "Who?" she roared. "Your sister!" She stared at him, shellshocked and quite. For the moment. Guy grasped the opportunity her silence gave. "She's flying in today. I wanted to surprise you for our anniversary." "By killing my sister?" Her face was as red as fire truck and I could almost hear the sirens. "No! She was going to jump out and surprise you when you opened the bag!" "She's alive?" Wife was pale as a ghost now. "Of course she is! She's even going to let us use her condo in Florida for our anniversary." Wife blinked at him. "You remembered our anniversary?" "Well, we wouldn't be having this conversation if I'd forgotten." Guy opened his arms invitingly. "Truce?" Wife nodded, dropped her phone and ran into his arms. "Happy anniversary, honey," Guy said. Co-worker emerged from his hidey hole. "I told you it would work!" he said triumphantly. "Shut up!" Guy and Wife said together. "Now, shall we go pick your sister up?" Guy asked. "Most definitely." Wife linked her arm with Guy's. As they walked out the door, Co-worker heard Wife exclaim, "But if she mentions that body bag, I swear I'll put her in it myself!"
